NOVA Outreach exists to:
- Make high-quality science outreach accessible to every school, regardless of budget
- Build science capital in children - the belief that science is for them
- Connect cutting-edge university research with the real world
- Create products (books, apps, games) that keep children curious long after a school visit ends
- Demonstrate that science communication can be both rigorous and joyful

The Bearded Scientist is wildly enthusiastic, magnificently bearded, and absolutely convinced that the universe is extraordinary - and that every child is even more extraordinary than that. He is the face of every NOVA Outreach book, app, and digital tool.
